Amanda Roe ND (she/her)

I am a nature fanatic.

I grew up in a small town in West Virginia where I spent time exploring the outdoors with my dad and many hours doing arts and crafts with my mom.  My love of nature and creativity, in addition to a deep faith in the body’s innate wisdom to heal, led me to study naturopathic medicine and midwifery.   I have a sincere passion for teaching people about their bodies, how they function, and how to best care for them.  I also believe and have seen that nature exposure is a solid part of any sound treatment plan.

“Dr. Amanda has a listening ear whenever we speak.  She makes time in every appointment for our many questions.  No question is a stupid question for her; she takes all our questions seriously.  Her quiet confidence and compassion were the reason my husband and I decided to have her as our family's doctor.

I studied Biology at James Madison University in Virginia with a focus on pre-medicine, zoology, and research.  While attending JMU, I fell deeply in love with the study of the human body.  I moved to Portland in 2000 to specialize in Naturopathic medicine and midwifery at the oldest accredited school of Naturopathy, the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM).  At NUNM, I completed a 2-year internship in natural childbirth, with an emphasis on pediatrics and women’s health.

“Dr. Roe is wonderful with my daughter, providing a fun and safe environment to deliver premium naturopathic care.  My doctor as well, Dr. Roe makes me feel so comfortable.  I know she has our best interest at heart, which means so much. Thank you!”

“I finally feel like my voice is being heard when I meet with Dr. Roe…I always feel so much better after our visits, and each time it reaffirms why we come here”

When I’m not being your doctor, I love spending time with my family-my husband Michael, and our daughter, Iris and our son, Harry.  We love exploring nature here in the Pacific NW.   When I’m in town, I love vegetable & herb gardening, trail & ultra running, forest bathing with the kids, and teaching.   I look forward to helping you with your health care concerns. Until we meet, keep up with my news on my Nature Intervenes blog!  In health,

Amanda Roe, ND
